  • 4 pieces ripe pears (Bosc or Anjou) Choose pears that are ripe but still firm.
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans Can be swapped for walnuts or almonds.
  • 2 tablespoons dried cranberries Feel free to experiment with different dried fruits.
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey Plus more for drizzling before serving.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon For extra spice, consider adding ginger or cayenne.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Halve the pears and scoop out a small cavity in the center.
  • In a bowl, mix oats, pecans, cranberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, honey, and vanilla.
  • Spoon the mixture into each pear half and place in a baking dish.

Baking

  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake for another 10–15 minutes.
  • Drizzle with honey before serving warm.

Notes

Baked Pears can be served on their own or paired with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or Greek yogurt. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to three months.
