Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly grease a small oven-safe baking dish (about 6×9 inches).
- Using a mixer or hand whisk, whip the room temperature cream cheese until it becomes fluffy and smooth.
- Add 1 ¾ cups of the grated sharp cheddar cheese to the whipped cream cheese and stir until well combined.
- Gently fold in the cranberry sauce and fresh cranberries to the cheese mixture.
- Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Baking
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until bubbly and heated through.
- For a golden brown finish, place the dip under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
Serving
- Remove from oven and serve immediately with crackers, bread, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
Notes
Store any leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen before baking; just thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Experiment with different cheese varieties or add fresh herbs for variations.
