  • 2 cans cans of baked beans
  • 1 cup brown sugar Adjust according to sweetness preference.
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon or sausage Can substitute with more vegetables for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the baked beans, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, chopped onion, cooked bacon or sausage, and mustard.
  • Stir well to mix all the ingredients together.
  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until it’s bubbling and smells amazing.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

Baked Beans can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-5 days. Reheat on the stove or in the microwave. Tips: For a smokier flavor, add more bacon or smoked paprika. You can also add chopped jalapeños or hot sauce for heat. Vegetarian option available by omitting bacon or sausage.
