  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Adjust for less sweetness if desired.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk Can use almond or oat milk.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting To serve

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Mixing Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, mix together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until fully incorporated.
  2. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones and mix gently. Be cautious not to overmix; aim for a thick batter.
Combine and Bake
  1. Fold in the finely chopped apples until they are evenly distributed.
  2. Using a tablespoon or a small ice cream scoop, drop dollops of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, making sure to leave space between each fritter for expansion.
  3. Bake in your preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Once baked, let them cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm for the best flavor!
