Mushroom Preparation
  • 12 large large white mushrooms Gently clean and remove stems.
Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Can also use feta or blue cheese for a twist.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions Add other herbs for variation.
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
Wrapping
  • 12 slices bacon Consider partially cooking for extra crispiness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Gently clean the mushrooms and twist off the stems; set the caps aside.
Mixing the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan, and chopped green onions. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Stuffing and Wrapping
  1. Generously fill each mushroom cap with the cream cheese mixture.
  2. Take a slice of bacon and wrap it around each filled mushroom. Secure it with a toothpick.
Baking
  1. Place the bacon-wrapped mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the mushrooms are tender.
