Ingredients
  

Pie Shell

  • 1 pie shell One pre-baked deep 9-inch pie shell Make sure it’s fully pre-baked.

Filling Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 slices thick slices of bacon, fried crisp and chopped up Crispy bacon adds flavor.
  • 2 average-sized tomatoes, sliced thin Juicy tomatoes add moisture.
  • 1 big yellow onion, sliced really thin Onions should be caramelized for sweetness.
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded Use fresh mozzarella for the best flavor.
  • 0.5 cup mayo Adds creaminess.
  • 0.5 cup sour cream For extra creaminess.
  • 1 tablespoon regular white flour Helps thicken the filling.
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt To taste.
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper To taste.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or chives, chopped up For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium skillet, cook the sliced onions with bacon grease on medium heat until soft and browned, about 10 minutes. Let cool.

Layering

  • Begin layering the pie: half of the onions on the bottom, followed by half of the tomatoes, and half of the bacon. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

Cheesy Mixture

  • In a bowl, mix together mozzarella, mayo, sour cream, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Spread the cheesy mixture evenly over the layered ingredients.

Baking

  • Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the top is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley or chives.

Notes

Best served warm. Pairs well with a garden salad or roasted vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
