- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Once done, remove it from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions. Cook them until they’re golden and caramelized. Once finished, set them aside.
- While the onions are cooking, form the ground beef into 4 equal patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In the skillet over medium-high heat, cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- Just before the patties are done, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- While the cheese is melting, toast the hamburger buns in the skillet or toaster oven until golden and warm.
- Start with the bottom bun, place a patty on it, then stack on a slice of tomato, lettuce, bacon, caramelized onions, and your preferred condiments—ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
- Cap it with the top bun and serve while hot!
Notes
Best served with crispy french fries or a fresh side salad. Leftovers can be stored separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
