Ingredients

For the burgers
  • 1 lb ground beef Make sure to use good quality beef.
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup cooked macaroni noodles
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Consider substituting with another cheese variety.
  • 1/4 cup milk For the mac and cheese mixture.
  • 2 tbsp butter For the cheese sauce.
  • 1/4 cup flour To thicken the cheese sauce.
  • 1 cup milk (for cheese sauce)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by seasoning the ground beef with salt and pepper, then divide it into 8 equal portions.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the cooked macaroni noodles, shredded cheddar cheese, and crumbled bacon.
  3. Form the mac and cheese mixture into 4 patties.
  4. Take a second portion of ground beef and place it on top of each mac and cheese patty. Seal the edges well to form stuffed burgers.
Cooking
  1. Grill or pan-fry the stuffed burgers until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
  2. While the burgers are cooking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour until smooth, then gradually add the 1 cup of milk, stirring until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Serve the stuffed burgers on buns, topped with a generous drizzle of cheese sauce.

Notes

For an even more intense flavor, consider marinating the beef beforehand. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze them for up to 3 months.
