  • 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove (optional) Start with a small amount or omit if desired

Preparation

  • Begin with draining and rinsing the chickpeas under cold water.
  • In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic.
  • Gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.
  • Taste the hummus and add salt if needed, then pulse again to integrate.
  • Serve immediately or store in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to a week.

Notes

Serve at room temperature for best flavor. Experiment with different veggies and herbs to cater to your baby's taste preferences.
