Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a small saucepan, combine the cranberry sauce, whiskey, honey, and Dijon mustard. Cook over medium heat until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
- Generously butter one side of each slice of bread.
Assembly
- Place two slices of bread on a baking sheet, butter side down. Layer each with turkey, a slice of cheddar cheese, and a generous dollop of the cranberry whiskey glaze.
- Add the remaining slices of bread on top, with the butter side facing up.
Baking
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and toasted.
- Remove from the oven and enjoy your Applewood Smoked Turkey Melt with Cranberry Whiskey Glaze while it’s hot!
Notes
For a crispier sandwich, use a cast-iron skillet to grill the sandwich. Consider adding fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme to the glaze for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
