Preparation

  • Preheat Your Oven: Set it to 350°F (175°C) to get ready for that warm embrace.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the applesauce, sugar, oil, and eggs until smooth.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt until well combined.
  • Bring It All Together: Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid over-mixing for tenderness.
  • Add Optional Ingredients: Fold in the nuts or raisins if using. They give an enjoyable crunch and bursts of sweetness.
  • Pour and Bake: Pour the batter into a prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
