Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the apple filling

  • 3 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced Use slightly tart apples for best flavor
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Can be substituted with maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Add more for a stronger flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press this mixture into the bottom of a springform pan.
  • In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until apples are tender.
  • Pour the apple mixture over the crust.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are bubbly.
  • Let it cool before serving, and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Pairs well with spiced apple cider or light salad. Cover and store in the fridge for 3-4 days; can also be frozen for up to two months.
