Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Provides richness to the batter.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Helps the batter rise.

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For additional flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and brown sugar together.
  • Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  • Pour the batter over the apples in the baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
  • Let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm on its own or with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat before serving.
