Batter Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Make sure butter is softened for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Can swap with chocolate chips or dried fruit.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar.
  3. Add the brown sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
  6. Stir in nuts if desired.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Serve slightly warm or at room temperature. Pair with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or refrigerate for up to a week for best flavor.
