Preparation
  1. Dredge the cubed steak in flour, ensuring an even coating.
  2. In a hot skillet with oil, brown the beef on all sides to lock in flavor.
  3. Remove the beef and sauté sliced onions until golden.
  4. Add more flour to the skillet, stir, and slowly whisk in the beef broth until thickened.
  5. Return the beef to the pan and stir gently to coat in the gravy. Add milk or cream for creaminess.
  6. Simmer the mixture for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the beef overnight. This dish can also accommodate substitutions like mushrooms or different meats.
