  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a lighter option.
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups egg noodles Cook according to package instructions.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup For a creamier texture, add a splash of milk.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Half goes in the mixture, half for topping.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and onions, cooked noodles, cream of mushroom soup, and half of the cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

For serving, pair with garden salad and crusty bread. Consider adding hot sauce or barbecue sauce for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to three months.
