Ingredients
  

For the Tacos
  • 10 pieces hard stand & stuff taco shells
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option
  • 3/4 cup diced yellow onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 ounce packet taco seasoning can use homemade seasoning for more flavor
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar-jack cheese feel free to experiment with different cheese types
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh cilantro optional garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the diced onion until it turns translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper, cooking until the beef is nicely browned.
  4. Mix in the taco seasoning and tomato sauce, ensuring everything is well blended.
  5. Carefully fill each taco shell with the beef mixture and arrange them in a baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the top of each taco.
  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. For an extra touch, garnish with fresh cilantro before serving hot!

Notes

For best results, keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the oven before serving again. Also, feel free to customize toppings like shredded lettuce, salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
