Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 medium ripe avocados (Hass recommended) Use ripe avocados for best texture.
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (or ⅓ cup keto granulated sweetener) For a healthier twist, substitute honey for maple syrup.
  • ½ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • a pinch salt (optional)
  • chocolate chips (optional for topping) Ensure chocolate chips are dairy-free for a vegan option.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8x4 brownie pan with parchment paper.
  • Add the seedless avocados, cocoa powder, and maple syrup to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and free of lumps. If you don’t have a blender, mash the avocados in a bowl with a fork, then stir in the cocoa powder and maple syrup until smooth.

Baking

  • Transfer the batter to the prepared brownie pan and bake in the hot oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Be careful not to over-bake! The brownies are ready when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • For best texture and flavor, let the brownies cool completely. They’re even fudgier if you chill them overnight.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, in the refrigerator for about a week, or freeze for up to three months. Feel free to mix in nuts or dried fruits for added flavor and crunch.
