  • 1 sprinkle Nutmeg

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter Can use coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • 3 tablespoons Milk Dairy or plant-based milk can be used.

  • 2 tablespoons Chopped apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp are recommended.

Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients and a microwave-safe mug.
  • In your mug, mix 4 tablespoons of flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder, and a sprinkle of both cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Stir well to avoid clumps.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of melted butter and 3 tablespoons of milk. Stir until combined and smooth.
  • Fold in 2 tablespoons of chopped apples into the batter.

Cooking

  • Pop your mug in the microwave and cook on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds, keeping an eye on it to avoid overflow.
  • Allow it to cool for a minute before serving.

Serving

  • Top with whipped cream, ice cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce as desired.

Notes

Let the cake sit for a minute after cooking as it will continue to cook slightly in the mug. Use a large mug to prevent overflow and ensure even cooking.
