Funnel Cake Bites

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

  • Powdered sugar (for topping)


Instructions

  1. Heat oil
    Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Make the batter
    In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    Add milk, egg, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth (batter should be thick but pourable).

  3. Fry the bites
    Spoon or pipe small dollops of batter into the hot oil (use a spoon, piping bag, or zip-top bag with the corner snipped).
    Fry for 1–2 minutes per side, until golden brown.

  4. Drain & serve
    Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
    Dust generously with powdered sugar.
